With high flows continuing on the Snake, the scenic raft trip has been a popular choice when trying to get out and enjoy this beautiful weather and the wildlife along the banks of the river.

Spring runoff has been quite fickle this year on the Green River. Flows are up one day, only to wake up the following day to dropping river levels and bettter water clarity. This past saturday we were lucky enough to float under favorable conditions which made for some fantastic streamer fishing.

Arrow-leaved Balsamroot

This member of the sunflower family features yellow flower heads, ~2-5 inches across. As it’s name would indicate, it has large arrow-shaped shaped leaves at its base and is seen in meadows and on hillsides early in the spring. Arrow-leaf provides a good early source of forage for hoofed mammals and was once and important source of food for native peoples.
