“The five a.m. wake-up came all too early this morning, but there’s no question that it was worth getting up. This morning was some of the first clear weather we have had in what seems like weeks. The wildlife was out in force. Attached is a picture of one of the handful of coyotes we spotted this morning. In addition to the coyote, we spotted bald eagles, elk, mule deer, moose and pronghorn. The highlight of the morning was watching a two year old male grizzly bear chase a cow elk around the willow flats by Jackson Lake Dam. It’s a great time of year to get out in the park in the mornings and evenings. Excessive snowfall remaining in the high-country has forced many species to remain in the valley floor later than usual into the summer. Get out there and see what’s going on!”
